The Karbala Governorate Council confirmed today, Wednesday, that more than 6 million visitors participated in the Ashura pilgrimage.
The head of the council, Qasim Al-Yasari, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The number of visitors who participated in the commemoration of the tenth of Muharram and the mourning of (Tuwairij Run) since the first of Muharram until now has reached more than 6 million visitors.”
The service, medical and security departments announced this evening, Wednesday, the success of their plan to revive the Ashura rituals and the mourning (Tuwairij Run).
