The United Nations announced that Secretary-General António Guterres wants to end the conflict in Ukraine while committing to its territorial integrity.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said during a press conference on Tuesday that he “wants to see an end to the conflict on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions and with a commitment to the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
This came as a comment on American media reports that indicated that Donald Trump, if elected president of the United States, would insist on Ukraine making concessions to Russia in order to achieve peace.
According to sources told the Washington Post, these concessions will include Ukraine abandoning its demands for the return of the Crimean Peninsula and its Donbass region.
