The governor of Karbala, Naseef Al-Khattabi, confirmed that the security and service plan for the Ashura visit is fully ready and its implementation began early.
Al-Khattabi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “The 10th of Muharram visit began in the province on the 1st of Muharram and usually continues until the 13th of Muharram,” indicating that “the security and service plan is fully ready and began early, and there is great organization for this visit.”
He added, “Breaks have been provided for visitors to protect them from the sun’s rays, as well as providing a service path,” stressing that “every year we have an update on the plans for the Ashura visit.”
He continued, “We have projects for the million visits under the direction of the Prime Minister and his direct supervision, and we are working with the Prime Minister’s Office to implement new projects and there are new squares and bridges,” noting that “the governorate has established new roads and expanded the previous roads as well as provided exceptional services.”
He pointed out that “the high coordination with the two holy shrines is in order for the visitor to arrive in the holy city with the best security and service, in addition to the great role of the Husseini bodies and processions,” stressing that “the service plan is usually implemented early.”
