Baghdad – WAA – Amina Al-Salami
The government media team confirmed, today, Saturday, that the electronic portal platform of Ur contributed to reducing the phenomenon of corruption and brokers.
The spokesman for the government media team, Haider Majeed, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “The Ur electronic portal for government services has contributed to reducing time and overcoming routine and bureaucracy, as was previously the case, during citizens’ visits to state institutions, where they used to wait in long queues for a long time, in order to wait for their transactions to be completed, in addition to being exposed to extortion by a number of employees.”
Majeed added, “The platform has also contributed to reducing the phenomenon of administrative and financial corruption, and the exploitation of citizens by brokers. The matter has now become simpler for citizens, by registering on the portal and applying for the available electronic services, which have reached 440 electronic services so far.”
He pointed out that “the secure documents system, which is a project to cancel the paper authenticity transaction and convert it electronically via (QR code) delivered to the citizen with the official book and official letter, has also contributed to reducing the process of exploiting citizens, reducing corruption, in addition to greatly accelerating the completion of authenticity transactions,” indicating that the system was officially adopted in May 2022, as the number of documents whose paper authenticity was cancelled and converted to electronic ones amounted to more than 7 million documents.
Majeed explained that “the National Data Center’s management has allocated the guidance service (toll-free line) (5599), and this line operates around the clock from nine in the morning until twelve at night, with the aim of citizens inquiring about the services provided, in addition to helping them avoid any obstacles that may hinder them during the registration process, and also to report cases of objection or lack of cooperation by employees with citizens in all state institutions,” stressing that “the National Center continues to organize and create platforms for government services, through coordination with state institutions, and in conjunction with government steps, as this file is part of the government program.”
