Who wants to see a new trailer for Ghosts: The Possession Of Button House? We said who wants to see a new trailer for Ghosts: The Possession Of Button House? ANSWER THE QUESTION, DAMN YOUR EYES! Oh yeah, you can’t actually respond to an article as it’s being written. Fine then, we’ll take it as given that of course you want to see our first proper look at Kitty, Thomas, Julian, Lady Fanny, Pat, Robin, Sir Humphrey Bone, and the Captain’s returns in the hit BBC sitcom’s first big-screen outing. Check it out below;
A trio of kids sneaking through the woods to an abandoned old house hidden behind a chain linked fence. An eerie ouija board, illuminated only by candlelight, spelling out the word ‘LEAVE’. Based on the first few seconds of this Ghosts trailer, you could’ve been forgiven for thinking we’d popped the wrong link in here and thrust a proper horror movie upon you. But then, of course, we cut to our ghostly pals, gathered round and exasperated as Simon Farnaby’s pantless poltergeist Julian Fawcett MP reveals he’s been trying to tell the teens to leave Europe — which Pat (Jim Howick) is quick to point out happened long ago (for shame.) And just like that, it’s as if the undead denizens of Button House were never gone at all… which, technically speaking, being ghosts, we suppose was always the case. C’est la vie/mort!
There’s no sign of (mortal) series leads Alison (Charlotte Ritchie) and Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe) in this first teaser for the Ghosts movie, but fear not, fans, they are in the film — along with Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond, and Lolly Adefope. And we can look forward to seeing the whole gang together again when Ghosts: The Possession Of Button House, directed by Simon Hynd, hits UK cinemas on 23 October. That’s our family Halloween viewing locked down, then. ‘Tis a fair wangle, that!
