
Fighting continues Monday in Gaza and southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah is based, as US top diplomat Antony Blinken meets with Israeli officials to secure a Gaza truce and hostage release deal. While mediators struggle to come up with a proposal that satisfies both Israel and Hamas, the ongoing talks have “defused” the “threat of a war with Iran”, FRANCE 24’s Irris Makler said, reporting from Jerusalem.
