EXCLUSIVE: Quiver Distribution has acquired the North American distribution rights to Noseeums, the feature debut from Austin-based director Raven DeShay Carter, following its U.S. Premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival and World Premiere at FrightFest in London.
Shot entirely in Florida, Noseeums is described as a socially charged horror feature that blends supernatural tension with a deep-rooted Southern Gothic atmosphere. The film follows Ember, a Black college student invited to a rural estate for a weekend with her white classmates, where she encounters spectral retribution tied to the historic loss of Black land ownership in the American South. Noseeums is Carter’s debut feature. She graduated from Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts.
The deal was brokered between Michael Favelle of Odin’s Eye Entertainment (OEE) and Paul E. Cohen on behalf of Torchlight Studios and Larry Greenberg of Quiver Distribution.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering once more with Quiver for Noseeums,” said Michael Favelle, CEO of Odin’s Eye Entertainment. “They’ve built a reputation for curating distinct, high-quality genre films, and Carter’s debut fits perfectly within that vision: bold, haunting, and deeply original.”
The film will screen at the upcoming Atlanta HorrorFest, Santa Fe International Film Festival, and Ethereal HorrorFest in Austin, Texas.
“We’re incredibly proud to see Noseeums take this next step with Quiver,” said Reb Braddock, Executive Director of Torchlight Studios and Dean of FSU Film School. “Their reach and experience will ensure that Raven’s voice—and the story she’s telling—resonates across North America.”
