
The International Olympic Committee’s decision to reintroduce gender testing for the first time since 1999 is a “step backwards”, French Sports Minister Marina Ferrari said on Friday. She said that genetic testing would unfairly rule out many athletes with differences in sexual development – previously known as intersex athletes.
