Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique surprised the team’s players with his decision during the match against Barcelona last Wednesday evening, in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The newspaper “L’Equipe” reported that the Paris players were surprised by Enrique’s decision to employ Marco Asensio in the spearhead position, and also to exclude Zaire Emery from the starting lineup, and to use Marquinhos in the right-back position.
It also revealed that more than one Parisian player expressed extreme annoyance with the Spanish coach’s decisions to change their positions on the field.
She pointed out that Enrique used to surprise his opponents and also his players with the many changes in the starting lineup, as he used 39 different formations over the course of 43 matches since he took over.
She pointed out that Enrique makes adjustments to the starting lineup of 4.5 players from one match to another, more than 50%, compared to former coach Christophe Galtier, whose average adjustments to the starting lineup was 2.96 players.
Paris Saint-Germain lost to Barcelona by a score of (3/2) at the Parc des Princes Stadium, and the two teams will meet again next Tuesday at Montjuïc Stadium.
