England’s team name remains unchanged for the first time in four years when they face Wales at Twickenham on Saturday in the Six Nations.
Head coach Steve Borthwick retained the originally announced starting XV and substitutes to help his side beat Italy 27-24 in the first round, while prop Ellis Genge Genge) recovering from a foot injury.
Genge was left on the bench having been ruled out of the opener at the Stadio Olimpico on the morning of the game but is fit enough for the visit of Warren Gatland’s side. Beno Obano, who served as substitute in Genge’s absence, has now withdrawn from the match in Round 23. The last time England’s name remained unchanged was in the 2019 World Cup final against South Africa in Japan, led by Eddie Jones, where they lost 32-12.
Jamie George will lead the side against Twickenham for the first time since being appointed as Owen Farrell’s successor as captain. Five players made their debuts against Italy – Ethan Lutz, Fraser Dingwall, Chandler Cunningham-South, Finn Smith and Emmanuel Fahey. Waboso — and has a chance to stay in the draft.
Lutz was named Roma’s man of the match after a brilliant display on the flank, while Faye Vaboso will face the country of his birth for the first time, having declined to represent England.
