Ministry spokesman Karim Al-Sayyid explained in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the Ministry’s efforts, with direct follow-up by the Minister of Education, culminated in the issuance of a decision to expropriate Baghdad College secondary land,” noting that “the property was officially registered to the Ministry of Education.”
He added, “The secondary school is an ancient educational edifice, and the institution that is part of Baghdad’s heritage and memory, having been more than 90 years old,” stressing, “The Ministry extends its sincere thanks to all the institutions and efforts that were supportive and that stood behind this historic decision, for one.” It is one of the qualitative schools that provided the country with competencies and brilliant names.”
