Stop The Clocks! Dig Out Your Soul! Be Here Now! Yes, those are Definitely Maybe all titles of albums by Mancunian rockers Oasis — but they’re also all things that fans of the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, should do at this very moment. Why? Because the supersonic first teaser trailer for Don’t Look Back In Anger, creator Steven Knight and directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace’s (Meet Me In The Bathroom) access all areas, IMAX-bound Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour documentary just dropped — that’s why! And you can check it out below;
C’mon you know that looks like a must-see for any self-respecting music lover already, right? Sure, this first teaser for Don’t Look Back In Anger barely stretches to forty seconds, but it’s not hard to see The Masterplan at work here for a doc that’s set to give fans the inside track on a historic musical event that’s familiar to millions. You’ve got Noel Gallagher saying he can’t see himself on stage with his brother after their band’s 16-year-long hiatus. You’ve got Liam Gallagher saying that the way it finished for Oasis — fisticuffs backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, 2009 — was “unacceptable”. And there’s snippets of the impossible comeback happening before our very eyes, with the newly reunited brothers walking to the stage as the crowds go wild, Noel promising “it’s gonna be chaos” as he and Liam rekindle their Heathen Chemistry. It looks, in a word, biblical.
Of the doc, Steven Knight says: “The Oasis world tour united generations, cultures and countries and spoke to a broken world about reconciliation. ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ is not only your ticket to the show – it’s a backstage pass and a seat at the table when Liam and Noel sit down together for the first time in 15 years and tell it how it is and how it was.”
Set to feature unprecedented on stage and backstage footage from the Gallagher brothers’ Live ’25 tour as well as the duo’s first on-camera interviews together in over 25 years, Knight and co are Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants to bring Oasis fans closer to the Gallaghers than we’ve ever been before. We look forward to stepping out of the sunshiiiiiiiine and into the multiplex to see Don’t Look Back In Anger when it hits cinemas and IMAX in September. And if that doesn’t give us all a bit of (What’s The Story?) Morning Glory then honestly, we just don’t know what will.
