De buikpijn van mevrouw Loofkens geeft dokter Rutger zelf ook een onrustig gevoel. Hij vertrouwt het niet helemaal en laat haar bloed onderzoeken. Voor de uitslagen rijdt hij naar huis, maar wordt daar onvriendelijk ontvangen door een man. Die had ook een nietpluisgevoel.
