The Commission stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) today, Tuesday, that “its effort to cordon off and follow up on violations and fight corruption that the Commission initiated early last year resulted in the discovery of this operation and many operations that stopped cases of corruption and manipulation of public funds.”
The statement explained, “This process was discovered after the formation of committees to audit the work of the sales departments in all directorates affiliated with the Authority. This tampering process was revealed after audit efforts that lasted for more than two months by the committee charged with auditing the sales of the Central Region Customs Directorate through tampering with the registration of approximately ( 400) wheels for the year 2023. As a result, an investigative committee was formed to uncover the threads of manipulation and take legal measures against violators.”
She indicated, “A directive was issued to place a seizure sign on the wheels during the investigation, and that work is underway to audit the year 2022.”
