The US Democratic National Committee announced that it intends to nominate President Joe Biden for the 2024 presidential election, despite numerous calls to withdraw his candidacy.
“Because of you, every voter in this country will have an equal opportunity to vote for our candidates, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be re-elected because of you,” Democratic Party Chairman Jaime Harris said at a rally with supporters.
Meanwhile, Biden himself issued a statement earlier saying he plans to resume campaigning next week, and is now isolating at his rural Delaware residence after being diagnosed with the coronavirus a few days ago.
