On Sunday, the Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region denied that Erbil International Airport had been subjected to any targeting.
A statement by the agency, received by Al-Rasheed, stated that “it was reported today in some militia media and media channels that a bomb-laden drone attacked Erbil International Airport.”
He added, “Some local channels eager for the reality of attacking Erbil International Airport without verifying the news and following up with the media published this news, and we declare that this news is unrealistic and false and that there was no attack on Erbil International Airport today.”
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced, earlier today, the targeting of the American Harir base near Erbil International Airport.
A statement by the Islamic Resistance stated, “In continuation of our approach to resisting the American occupation forces in Iraq and the region, and in response to the Zionist entity’s massacres against our people in Gaza, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq today, Sunday, January 28, 2024, attacked the occupation base near Erbil Airport in northern Iraq, By drone.”
He added, “The Islamic Resistance confirms that it will continue to destroy enemy strongholds.”
