Christian Horner’s future remains up in the air after extensive emergency meetings with lawyers investigating allegations of misconduct against Red Bull’s team principal.
With less than a week before the launch of the new 2024 Red Bull Racing car and the start of the new season in Bahrain on March 2, Horner attended a meeting with lawyers at an undisclosed location in central London on Friday. It is understood that the meeting lasted for eight hours from morning to afternoon and, as expected, no decisions were immediately announced.
Red Bull said in a statement after the meeting: “It would be inappropriate to comment until the investigation is complete.” No statement has yet been released by Horner or parent company Red Bull Ltd, which launched the investigation.
Horner is defending himself against accusations by a female employee of what he called “controlling” behavior, in a case that could determine the fate of his career. He has denied the validity of the allegations.
It is understood lawyers conducting the inquiry have gathered evidence, including from employees involved, and Friday’s meeting was an opportunity for Horner to address the issue before the inquiry considers the case. There is currently no timetable for when a conclusion is expected, but the possibility of further meetings if needed has not been ruled out. The team hopes to make a decision before launching the car next Thursday.
The meeting was the culmination of a torrid week for Horner after the allegations were revealed on Monday after the parent company made clear it was addressing the issue.
“After learning of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation,” the company said in a statement. “This process is already underway and will be conducted by external specialist counsel. The company takes this matter very seriously and will The investigation will be completed as soon as possible. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

No information about the female employee involved has been made public, and there are no details about the complaint. It is understood the investigation will continue until all relevant facts are established. The conclusions will then be reported to Red Bull Limited, which will decide what action to take. Horner can still take legal action of his own if he deems it necessary.
