
The dream final never materialised. Jannik Sinner was forced to retire in the first set due to illness against Carlos Alcaraz in the Cincinnati Open final. The Italian said he had been feeling unwell since Sunday and could no longer continue. For Alcaraz, it’s his sixth title of the year and his first in Cincinnati.
