Baghdad /Nina/ US President Joe Biden won the Democratic Party primary elections in New Hampshire, defeating two of his rivals.
According to NBC News, after 3% of the votes were counted, Biden obtained about 73% of them, and Representative Dean Phillips came in second place with a large margin of about 17%, and Marianne Williamson, with 4%.
Biden’s name was not on the ballot and voters supporting him had to write it in. The election was held in violation of the Democratic National Committee, which declared the election “meaningless.”
New Hampshire held its primary elections, maintaining its tradition as the first state in the country to witness this event, in violation of the decision of the Democratic Committee, which recommended starting with South Carolina.
This led to actions against the state, prohibiting Biden from campaigning or putting his name on the ballot in New Hampshire.
New Hampshire’s state secretary said write-in votes will be counted as long as voters’ intentions can be reasonably determined, so misspellings of Biden’s name will still be acceptable.
It is noteworthy that former President Donald Trump was able to grab the Republican Party nomination for the ballot in the New Hampshire primary elections, by defeating his only competitor, the former Washington delegate to the United Nations, Nikki Haley./End 9
