Today, Tuesday, the Baghdad Police Command announced official statistics on the number of domestic violence cases for the past year.

Baghdad Police Director, Major General Adnan Al-Salami, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The percentage of cases of violence against women reached 52 percent, while cases of violence against men reached 14 percent.”
He pointed out that “cases of violence against children amounted to 5 percent, while the rest of the types of violence varied.”
