Baghdad Operations Command announced today, Thursday, the liberation of a kidnapped person and the arrest of a kidnapping gang in the Abu Ghraib district, west of the capital.
The command stated in a statement received by “Al-Rasheed”, that “with a high-level intelligence effort to track and follow up on those accused of kidnapping, and after obtaining judicial arrest warrants and in a qualitative operation, the detachments of the Anti-Kidnapping Cell, Intelligence and Security/Our Command, in cooperation with a detachment from (the National Security Service, the Reconnaissance Battalion/Our Command, the Investigative Authority), were able to free a kidnapped person and arrest a kidnapping gang consisting of three accused (his kidnappers) after demanding a financial ransom of ($16,000).”
She explained, “This came after receiving accurate intelligence information and luring them into tight ambushes that were set for them and arresting them in Abu Ghraib district/Al-Siddiq Street, west of the capital, Baghdad.”
She added, “Those arrested were referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them.”
