Today, Thursday, the Commander of Baghdad Operations, Lieutenant General Walid Khalifa Al-Tamimi, issued a directive regarding traffic congestion on the northern road of the capital.
The Operations Command stated in a statement received by Al-Rasheed, “In implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and in conjunction with the maintenance and rehabilitation work of the main road linking Baghdad and Salahuddin within the Taji and Tarmiyah districts north of the capital, Lieutenant General Al-Daraa, Commander of Baghdad Operations, instructed, in coordination with the company implementing the project and the holding units in the Sixth Infantry Division and the security services attached to it, to partially open the “Taji Road” towards the Dhira’ Dijlah Bridge.”
She added that “this is to ease the burden on citizens, reduce traffic congestion and prevent the accumulation of queues of trucks in it,” noting that “the operations commander directed the necessity of the presence of patrols from (the army, rescue, and traffic) in order to ensure the prevention of vehicles from driving in the opposite direction and to hold accountable those who are negligent and violating and to prevent any impact on the work of the implementing company.”
