The Baghdad Operations Command announced today, Friday, that a soldier was killed and 4 others were injured when an explosive device exploded during a search and inspection operation in Tarmiyah, north of the capital.
The command stated, in a statement received by Al-Rashid, that “in implementation of the directives of Lieutenant General Dara’ al-Rukn, commander of Baghdad operations, to sustain the intelligence effort and intensify armed reconnaissance duties, and with the aim of besieging the remnants of the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, search and inspection operations were launched today at dawn in the areas north of Tarmiyah by units of the Brigade.” Infantry (25) and in conjunction with detachments from the intelligence of the aforementioned brigade.”
She added, “During the search of Al-Salman Orchard, an explosive device left inside the structure of an abandoned house exploded on the force. The incident led to the death of a fighter and the wounding of four with various minor injuries.”
She continued, “Our forces confirm that they are moving forward by clearing these areas of criminal gangs, to prevent them from carrying out their malicious intentions, with which they seek to harm our people and destroy our infrastructure.”
