Director and screenwriter Paul Schrader, best known for films like “Taxi Driver,” “American Gigolo” and “Raging Bull,” has been accused of reneging on a settlement with his former assistant over claims he sexually assaulting and harassed her for years, according to civil court documents. Schrader allegedly broke a confidential settlement he agreed to in February with “Jane Doe,” his 26-year-old former assistant, in a motion filed Thursday night in New York State Supreme Court. The 14-year-old son of former New York Yankees player Brett Gardner died of carbon monoxide poisoning while on vacation in Costa Rica last month, an investigative agency in the Central American country said Thursday.Brett and Jessica Gardner said that their son, Miller Gardner, died peacefully on March 21 in his sleep after he and other members of the family fell ill while on vacation.Results of a test for carboxyhemoglobin saturation came back at 64% when 50% is considered lethal, according to Randall Zúñiga, director of the Costa Rica Judicial Investigation Agency.The young victim was also tested for other drugs in…

The body of the fourth U.S. Army soldier who went missing during a training exercise in Lithuania last week was found Tuesday afternoon, military officials announced. The soldier, whose name was not released pending family notification, was the last to be found after the bodies of three other soldiers were found Monday.  The four soldiers, from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, had gone missing during a training exercise on March 25, when their M88A2 Hercules armored recovery vehicle submerged in a peat bog.
