Gary Jensen, a stunt coordinator who collaborated with Bryan Singer on The Usual Suspects and the first two X-Men films and with Kevin Smith on Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and four other movies, has died. He was 74. Jensen recently spent two months in the hospital for back surgery and died April 11 at his home in Acton, California, his daughter-in-law Laura Jensen told The Hollywood Reporter. Ryan Googler’s highly anticipated new movie Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan, is finding redemption at the Easter weekend box office. Ditto for Warner Bros. The critical — and audience darling — topped Friday’s chart with $19.2 million from 3,308 theaters, including Imax screens. Ryan Coogler went through a period of “complicated grief” after Chadwick Boseman’s death while he was working on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.  At the time of Boseman’s 2022 passing, the second Black Panther installment was in the works. His death not only halted the film’s production but left the crew devastated in the wake of his death.  During a Thursday interview with The Guardian, Coogler said the crew got through the devastation by working on the sequel. “Sometimes it’s actually a relief having something to do, so you can’t sit in that terrible feeling,” he added. Regal Cineworld Group has tapped Brooks LeBoeuf to serve as head of film content in the U.S. In the new gig, he’ll manage all acquisition, distribution and programming responsibilities for Regal Cinemas in curating a lineup of films, events and experiences.
