Qudwa said that Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his government “doesn’t give a damn about international law”. “As long as Mr Netanyahu is there, I don’t think that we will see some real progress on the ground,” he said. Qudwa also claimed that Israel’s real goal was not to destroy Hamas, but to “destroy the Palestinian people” and “maybe re-occupy Gaza”.

A Frenchman being tried for recruiting strangers to rape his drugged wife will be back in court to testify on Wednesday after being admitted to hospital, the presiding judge at his trial said. The hospital admission on Tuesday of Dominique Pelicot, a 71-year-old retiree accused of repeatedly raping and enlisting dozens of strangers to abuse his heavily sedated wife, had sparked speculation that the trial may be adjourned, but the presiding judge said the trial could now continue as planned.
