Spanish star player Jenni Hermoso Tuesday appeared for a preliminary court hearing as part of aninvestigation into Luis Rubiales’ sexual assault case. Hermoso, who testified behind closed doors, told the court that the kiss she received from Rubiales was “at no point consensual.” She has previously stated Rubiales, who at the time served as the head of Spain’s football federation, and his staff tried to pressure the footballer and her family to downplay the incident. “Everything went well,” Hermoso told reporters after her testimony. “The judicial process will continue its course, and thanks for the support that many of you had given to me.” In September last…
Ukraine’s president and foreign minister have both condemned the overnight air- and missile strikes, and called for more military assistance from partner countries. “Another attack by Russian savages. My biology teacher at school told us: “You don’t buy a beer, you rent it.” And the added cost of renting it, he used to say, was the hangover. But how does alcohol really affect our body and brains, and how much do we know about hangovers? Well, scientists aren’t exactly sure what’s going on, but everyone who’s had a drink knows how miserable they can be. This holiday season, many of us will be celebrating with a drink or three. But is it possible to come out the other side without any aftereffects? The chemistry of hangovers Alcohol is metabolized…
“The expectations for Paris are high – in every respect,” International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach said. The idea is to make the 2024 Summer Olympics sustainable and inclusive, with gender equality being a top priority. Organizers are also aiming to make the host city an integral part of the Games. The Paris 2024 organizers are planning to reduce CO2 emissions by around half to around 1.58 million tons, compared…

Recent weeks have seen a lot of discussion of war fatigue and waning solidarity in Brussels. EU member states are finding it difficult to unanimously sign off on the financial aid that the European Union has promised. The current approach, that it is up to…
