President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Russia would cease-fire and enter peace talks if Ukraine withdrew its forces from four regions claimed by Moscow. Putin also said Kyiv would need to relinquish any ambitions of joining NATO for peace to be achieved. South Africa’s newly elected parliament convened in Cape Town after two weeks of intensive behind-the-scenes talks with other parties regarding a government of national unity (GNU).
