A norovirus outbreak hit the picturesque village of Torri del Benaco on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy, last week. More than 300 people have sought medical treatment for the highly contagious stomach bug. The virus is known for its sudden onset of gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps and fever. The rapid spread of the illness led to an immediate investigation by health authorities, who confirmed the presence of the highly contagious norovirus in stool samples of affected individuals. Fresh protests have flared again in several Kenyan cities, with demonstrators facing a heavy police presence. In the capital, Nairobi, police fired tear gas at protesters after they set fires on the main road running through the center of the city and threw stones at police in the central business district. The US and Panama have signed an agreement to curb the flow of migration to the southern US border through the Darien Gap, the Central American government announced Monday. North Korea on Tuesday said it successfully tested a new tactical ballistic missile capable of carrying a “super large warhead,” according to state news agency KCNA.  Pyongyang said the test, named Hwasongpho-11 Da-4.5, was conducted with a simulated heavy warhead to verify flight stability and accuracy.
