A fatal car ramming in a crowded German city square has refocused attention on the use of vehicles by people seeking to attack the public. The incident  in downtown Mannheim took place on the Monday of regional Carnival celebrations. A travelling group of burglars stole jewelry worth £68,000 ($87,000), up to £10,000 in cash and an Audi car after breaking into a Premier League footballer’s home, a British court heard on Wednesday. The burglary took place at the home of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak in Northumberland county in northeast England last April while the 25-year-old Swedish international was out. Several civilians in South Korea were injured on Thursday after a military jet accidentally dropped eight bombs in a civilian district during a live-fire military drill, the country’s Air Force said. “Eight MK-82 general-purpose bombs were abnormally released from an Air Force KF-16 aircraft, landing outside the designated firing range,” the Air Force said. “We deeply regret the unintended release of the bombs, which resulted in civilian casualties, and wish those injured a swift recovery,” it said in a statement.  At least seven people were injured, including four seriously.
