UPDATED with latest: The Palisades Fire Friday night got over the ridge of the Santa Monica Mountains, threatening the San Fernando Valley. That triggered a new mandatory evacuation order for an area from Sunset Boulevard to Encino Reservoir, and from the 405 Freeway west to Mandeville Canyon. That region was previously under an evacuation warning. Voluntary evacuations stretch all the way to Ventura Boulevard, covering a large swathe of Encino as well as parts of Brentwood. Bong Joon-ho‘s highly anticipated sci-fi film Mickey 17 is set to premiere on February 28 in South Korea, before the title’s March 7 North American release and global rollout. Pritish Nandy, the Indian poet, producer and filmmaker, has passed away at the age of 73. Born in 1951 in Bihar, he produced many films such as Bollywood Calling, Sur, Kaante, Chameli and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, among others. Amid the continued success of its third installment, Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog feature franchise has zoomed past $1B at the worldwide box office. Based on the Sega video game, the first two pictures were released in February 2020 and April 2022, respectively, grossing a combined $725.2M globally. The screenwriter and film director is best known for Life After Beth (2014), Joshy (2016), The Little Hours (2017), Horse Girl (2020), Spin Me Round (2022), and for co-writing I Heart Huckabees (2004). He is also the husband of actress and producer Aubrey Plaza, and they have been married since 2021.
