Thousands of protesting farmers have been marching from neighbouring states to India’s capital Delhi to seek assured prices for their crops.Police fired tear gas near the Shambhu border between the states of Punjab and Haryana to dissuade the farmers from reaching the capital.This follows a similar protest in 2020, which ended with the repeal of controversial agricultural reforms. Now the farmers have hit the streets again saying their key demands still haven’t been fulfilled.Security measures have been intensified and large gatherings have been prohibited in the capital.
