A security source reported today, Wednesday, the arrest of a person against whom an in absentia ruling was issued by the Internal Security Forces Court north of Baghdad.
The source told Al-Rasheed, “A security force arrested a person who had been sentenced in absentia by the Internal Security Forces Court to six years in prison with a fine of 90 million Iraqi dinars on charges of embezzling state funds.”
He explained, “The accused was one of the members of the Ministry of Interior in 2007, holding the position of hanger manager, and he stole 6 BKC weapons from inside the hanger and fled,” noting that the arrest took place in the Al-Mushahadah area within the Tarmiyah district, north of the capital, Baghdad.
