Director of the Commercial and Financial Control Department, Anbar Branch, Ahmed Rashid Assi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The supervisory teams continue to follow up on the process of preparing the food basket for those covered by social care, as the quantity was zeroed at a 100 percent processing rate today, after the distribution of the 11th share of this food.” year,” indicating that “the rate of preparing flour has reached 50 percent of the ninth quota for this year and is awaiting approval to release the second 50 percent of the quota.”
He added, “The Anbar Government Mill is still continuing to grind and prepare flour for the ninth session and distribute it to the areas of the city center of Ramadi, according to the affiliated districts and the cutting schedule,” noting, “The food basket has contributed to alleviating the suffering of many citizens in general, especially those covered by social welfare.” .
He added, “The number of families included in the 11 social welfare share amounted to 92,729 families, with 320,195 individuals distributed across various districts and districts,” pointing out that “the Ministry of Commerce and the prominent role it plays in providing food basket items has contributed to stabilizing the price of foodstuffs in local markets.” “.
He continued, “The initiative of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and Minister of Trade Atheer Al-Ghurairi to support foodstuffs, especially meat and cheese, as well as opening direct sales centers at a cost lower than the local market price, contributed to stabilizing the market and alleviating the suffering of citizens.”
He pointed out that “there are audit committees from the Commercial Control Department, Anbar Governorate Branch, as well as in the districts and districts of the governorate, in cooperation with the Economic Security, Organized Crime and National Security Service, to organize advance inspection tours to monitor and follow up on market prices.”
He stressed, “A number of cases of weak-minded manipulators were identified and they were taken to the judiciary to receive their just punishment,” pointing out that “there are directives to support the ration card items and introduce other materials to contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens, as well as to stabilizing prices in local markets.”
He expected that “there will be additions of new items to the ration card early next year, 2024.”
In turn, the director of the Anbar Supply Branch, Abdul Ibrahim Farhan, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the ninth food basket was distributed to all citizens in Anbar Governorate, consisting of sugar, rice, oil, legumes, and tomato paste,” explaining, “All materials are excellent and of international origins.” “.
He stated, “Through our visit to the food agents, we found satisfaction among the citizens, as it fills the need and eliminates the need to buy from local markets,” pointing out that “the stores are currently full of all the required food items.”
Regarding social care materials, he stressed, “Continuing the distribution of the 11th meal, with the 12th meal being distributed at the beginning of next month.”
