The Security Media Cell described the bombing carried out by American forces in Baghdad as an unprovoked attack and an undermining and repudiation of all agreements, while pointing out that American drones had penetrated Iraqi airspace.
The cell stated, in a statement received by “Al-Rasheed” today, Thursday, that “in a new blatant attack and a blatant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and security, it has been confirmed by the Iraqi forces conclusively that whoever targeted a vehicle carrying two leaders of the Popular Mobilization Forces in the Al-Mashtal area, east of the capital, Baghdad.” “They are American drones that have penetrated Iraqi airspace.”
She added, “This unjustified aggression is an undermining and repudiation of all previous agreements and understandings, and we hold the United States and the coalition forces responsible for the consequences and repercussions of this aggression on the security and stability of Iraq in particular and the region in general.”
A security source reported, earlier on Wednesday, that two leaders of the Hezbollah Brigades were martyred in an air strike that targeted their vehicle, east of Baghdad.
The source told Al-Rasheed, “A drone bombardment targeted a vehicle belonging to the Iraqi resistance factions in the Al-Mashtal area, east of the capital, Baghdad.”
He added, “The bombing resulted in the martyrdom of three people, including the leader of the Hezbollah Brigades, Abu Baqir al-Saadi,” and the leader, “Arkan Al-Olayawi.”
