In a scenario that has become repeated almost daily in the Red Sea, as a result of the tensions that have expanded in the region since the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip, this internationally important shipping lane witnessed a new incident.
The Embry Maritime Security Agency announced today, Monday, that it had received knowledge of an incident related to a “missile launch” west of Hodeidah, Yemen.
Meanwhile, the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority indicated, in a tweet on its account on the “X” platform, that it had received a report of an incident 71 nautical miles southwest of Al-Salif Al-Yemeni.
She explained that an explosion occurred in the vicinity of a ship southwest of the Yemeni port of Saleef, adding that the captain confirmed the safety of the ship and its crew.
It also called on ships to sail with caution and to report any suspicious activity.
