The Ministry of Transport announced that its seismic observatories at the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded the occurrence of an earthquake on Friday, February 9, 2024, in Erbil Governorate.
The Ministry stated, in a statement received by “Al-Rasheed”, that the earthquake was recorded at 10:05:39 local time, and its magnitude reached (3.2) degrees, and it was (21) km northeast of Sidkan in Erbil Governorate.
She added, “It was felt by the residents, without any material or human losses reported,” calling on citizens to “take caution, stay away from rumors and false news, and adhere to the seismic commandments issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring.”
