US President Joe Biden said on Saturday that he directed his country’s forces to bomb targets inside Iraq and Syria, stressing that the United States does not seek conflict in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world.
Biden said, “The United States’ response to the attack on a base in Jordan, which resulted in the killing of 3 American soldiers, began today, and will continue at times and places that Washington chooses.”
He added, “Last Sunday, three American soldiers were killed in Jordan by a drone launched by armed groups supported by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and earlier today, I attended a tribute to these Americans at Dover Air Force Base, and spoke with each of their families.”
He added: “This afternoon, at my direction, American military forces struck targets in Iraq and Syria that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and its affiliated groups are using to attack American forces.”
The American President stated: “Our response began today… and it will continue at the times and places we choose,” stressing that “the United States does not seek conflict in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world, but let all those who may seek to harm us know.” “If you harm an American, we will respond.”
