Baghdad / Nina / Dr. Iyad Allawi, head of the National Coalition, met with Minister of Defense Thabet Al-Abbasi.
A statement from Allawi’s office stated that during the meeting, they discussed developments in the hot political situation in the country and ways to achieve stability and Iraq’s sovereignty, prevent conflicts, and not make Iraq an arena for settling scores.
Allawi praised the efforts of the military institution in confronting terrorism, and the sacrifices of its sons.
He also called for supporting the military establishment, diversifying sources of armament, and keeping pace with the world’s development./End 9
