Alexis Mike Allister says Jurgen Klopp’s departure will inspire Liverpool to finish the season on a higher note in memory of their manager. The German will end his nine-year reign at Anfield this summer as he aims to add to his six major honours, with four trophies still up for grabs.
The Premier League leaders face a potentially crucial game in the title race when they travel to Arsenal on Sunday. In the third round of this year’s FA Cup, Liverpool defeated the Gunners 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

“The manager saying he’s leaving gives us a bigger incentive,” Mike Allister said. “I don’t know if that was what he had in mind when he made the announcement, but it’s certainly been a motivation. We really We understand and respect his decision and now we want to do our best to give him a very good season before he leaves.”
Liverpool, which has lost once in the league this season, beat Chelsea 4-1 on Wednesday to achieve its fourth consecutive victory. There were no new signings at Anfield in January, but the squad has been boosted by the emergence of academy graduate Conor Bradley since making his league debut at Bournemouth on January 21. The 20-year-old scored one goal and assisted two others in midweek but sadly is doubtful for Sunday following the death of his father.
Mac Allister said before the news broke: “Confidence is very high at the moment. When you beat a team like Chelsea 4-1 it’s going to be high. But we expect Arsenal’s It’s going to be a very tough game, just like the FA Cup. It’s obvious that we’ve improved a lot as a team since the start of the season. We’ve worked really hard. You can see that, with every player that has joined the team They all know what they have to do and it’s very important for us to keep the level up and improve the team from there. We’re really happy with our performance but we know we’re only halfway through the season.”
Mike Allister has been a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield rebuild since joining from Brighton this summer. The Argentinian often plays a deeper role. Asked if he expected to play there after joining, Mike Allister said: “No, not really. That’s obviously not the idea. But things have changed. At the start of the season we didn’t have a suitable number six. player, so I have to do the job. Jurgen loves it. So I try to do my best and it’s all about helping the team.”
