A statement by the Authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “The field visits conducted by the Chairman of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, to the ports of Basra Governorate continue. After his visit yesterday to the Safwan port, he headed towards the sea ports to see in the field the flow of work there.”
The statement added, “Al-Waeli, upon his arrival, held an important meeting with the managers of the port ports of Umm Qasr (northern and central), during which he stressed the necessity of working in a team spirit, exchanging information, integrating and cooperating with all departments to ensure that commercial work runs smoothly and with high professionalism, and following up on the file of withdrawing the accumulated containers.” Preventing forgery and distortion of official documents.
He pointed out that “the welcome yard was visited unexpectedly and a group of containers were opened to verify the integrity of the procedures and review the electronic verification of documents and the process of analyzing images of incoming goods to prevent tampering and smuggling of any materials not mentioned in the official papers.”
