Baghdad/NinaPrime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani met, this evening, Thursday, with the Executive Vice President of Shell, which specializes in the energy sector, John Crocker, the CEO of the Mammut Company, which specializes in the transportation sector, Paul Kelder, and the Director of Government Relations at Seabolt, which specializes in the energy sector, Marinex Coats, as part of the official visit. During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Dutch companies that have important experience in the field of energy of all kinds, especially the clean and renewable energy sector, and associated gas projects, pointing out the availability of many investment opportunities for these companies, in addition to their current projects that Operated in Iraq.
For his part, a representative of Shell Crocker confirmed that the company is currently focusing its investments and projects, in all its locations, on the gas sectors, its investment and development technologies, explaining that a change occurred in the company’s plans regarding petrochemical projects in all parts of the world, which was the reason for withdrawing from the project. Nebras in Iraq, stressing at the same time the keen interest in continuing the company’s work in Iraq, which began 10 years ago, and the serious desire to expand it in the gas investment sector, which constitutes one of the most important axes of economic reform adopted by the government.
For their part, Kelder and Coates expressed their thanks for the facilities provided by the Iraqi government to foreign companies, stressing that the keenness to communicate directly with representatives of companies confirms Iraq’s move towards a serious and productive partnership with the private sector./End 8
