Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Iraq Development Fund today, Thursday, where a number of files and topics included in the Fund’s projects were discussed.
The meeting discussed the procedures for launching the (Aidopa) project to build schools in Baghdad and the governorates by the private sector, in terms of securing funding, payment mechanisms, and other technical aspects, in preparation for launching the project, which includes the construction of modern school buildings according to the best specifications, and within the system of construction and continuous maintenance.
The meeting witnessed the discussion of the initial draft of the internal regulations that regulate the work of the Fund, as Mr. Al-Sudani stressed the necessity of adopting a non-traditional internal regulation, which would enable the preservation of the philosophy of establishing the Iraq Development Fund, its subsidiary funds, and the directions of the projects it adopts, and that the governance and human resources guide be adopted within the relevant system.
Al-Sudani directed the formation of a committee from the departments of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, to undertake the process of opening and analyzing the offers submitted by private sector companies to build schools, as well as reviewing and auditing the contracts concluded with investors in school building projects, and stating their compliance with the approved specifications and conditions.
