Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, directed, today, Monday, to redouble oversight efforts and accelerate the maturation of priority draft laws.

The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Al-Mandalawi conducted a tour to follow up on the work of the parliamentary blocs and committees, during which he visited the headquarters of the State of Law bloc, and met with its head, Representative Yasser Sakhil, and a number of its members, and the headquarters of the coalition bloc. State forces, and the meeting with its president, Representative Faleh Al-Sari, within the framework of the presidency’s efforts to activate the legislative and oversight role of the Council.”
The statement added, “During the meetings, the need to activate oversight and legislative work was emphasized by adhering to the dates of the morning sessions, and the active and permanent attendance of all representatives to the sessions and meetings of the parliamentary committees, as well as joint coordination to speed up the approval of priority legislation.”
The statement continued, “The importance of holding continuous meetings with heads and members of parliamentary blocs to discuss draft laws and speed up their maturation and vote on them was emphasized, in addition to doubling oversight efforts and coordinating with executive authorities to provide the best services that citizens expect.”
