Al-Amiri said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “In view of the political impasse and the division of the members of the Diyala Provincial Council into two teams, and out of our concern for the stability of Diyala’s security and not returning to square one, we therefore decided to nominate a settlement candidate, who is the competent young man ((Muhammad Jassim Al-Amiri) )) He is one of the respected and prominent families in Diyala Governorate.
He added: “We hope from all parties and political blocs to support, endorse, and assist in this difficult mission, and we hope from our son, Muhammad Al-Amiri, that he will be at the same distance from all political forces. What is important to us is the stability of Diyala and the service of its people.”
