Baghdad – WAA – Wissam Al-Mulla
Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi Al-Amiri, stressed today, Saturday, the necessity of the withdrawal of the international coalition and Turkish forces from Iraqi territory.
Al-Amiri said during the central memorial ceremony for the ninth anniversary of the martyrdom of Commander Abu Muntadhar al-Muhammadawi and a group of his fellow martyrs, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “On the anniversary of the martyrdom of Commander Abu Muntadhar al-Muhammadawi and a group of believers, talking about the martyred leaders may be similar, whether about Commander Soleimani or al-Muhandis or all the leaders because they possess the same qualities.”
He stressed that “all the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces had a strong will, and this will is what the Palestinian people are fighting with today, in addition to the firm belief,” noting that “the martyr Al-Muhammadawi is the one who founded the jihadist work in the marshes and was a mobile jihadist school, and we found its impact after his martyrdom in all the Iraqi provinces in which he fought in battles against ISIS.”
He continued by saying: “Abu Muntadhar was interested in educational construction and missionary youth, and talking about him is not only due to his courage, but also because he was able to raise a missionary generation. We must embody the values and principles that our leaders carried to our youth, because there is a colonization of minds, and our responsibility is to fortify the nation and transfer the experience of our martyrs to future generations, because there is a broad intellectual invasion through what is called soft warfare, and there is targeting of our values, and our responsibility as a mobilization is to embody ideas and transfer them to generations.”
He continued, “If we want Iraq to have sovereignty, dignity, pride and a strong military institution, this cannot be achieved except through the withdrawal of the international coalition forces from Iraq,” adding, “In 2009, we agreed to the withdrawal of foreign forces and there were 180,000 fighters and they withdrew within two years, and now they say we have 2,500. Is it reasonable that they need three years to withdraw?”
In a related context, Al-Amiri said, “We do not accept and cannot build relations with Turkey unless its forces withdraw from Iraqi territory. No, we cannot compromise on the sovereignty and land of Iraq,” stressing, “We are keen on Turkey’s security and are ready for understanding and cooperation, and the constitution does not allow it to have any forces on our land that threaten neighboring countries.”
The head of the Fatah Alliance concluded his speech by saying: “We stress the necessity of the international coalition leaving Iraq and the Turkish forces leaving Iraqi territory.”
