Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Alawi, announced the launch of a package of decisions to reduce meat prices, while confirming that prices are rising globally.

Al-Alaywi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The rise in meat prices globally has affected all countries in the region, including Iraq, so we have embarked in the opinion body on a package of decisions that includes about 12 points, as it will contribute to reducing meat prices.”
Al-Alaywi added, “The first shipment entered and headed to four Iraqi governorates and will be distributed among the rest of the governorates in addition to other shipments.”
He pointed out that “the first shipment included about 19 thousand heads of cows,” stressing that “this large package that we launched will reduce meat prices in the markets.”
