On Wednesday evening, the Coordination Framework held its regular meeting in the presence of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani. The attendees stressed the importance of unifying the national position and ending the missions of the international coalition in Iraq.
A statement by the media department of the framework received by “Al-Rasheed” stated that “the Coordination Framework held its 195th regular meeting on Wednesday evening, during which it hosted the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the latest political and security developments in the region and the world were reviewed.”
He added, “The attendees stressed the importance of unifying the national position towards various issues related to the interest of Iraq. The importance of continuing maximum efforts to solve the problem of electing the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and helping the political forces concerned to solve it was also emphasized. The attendees also expressed the necessity of standing up to the challenges that are sweeping the region and the world and fencing Iraq off from them, and cooperating in that.”
Regarding the international coalition, the statement indicated that “all parties within the meeting agreed on the importance of ending the tasks of the international coalition and changing the form of the relationship to another form of cooperation based on mutual respect and common interests. The attendees expressed their desire to follow up on the pending issues between the federal government and the regional government and contribute to resolving them in accordance with the law and the constitution.”
