Hamas criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s demands for the movement to surrender, lay down its weapons, and hand over detainees, in order to stop the war on the Gaza Strip. A member of the Hamas political bureau, Izzat al-Rishq, said in his statements, “Netanyahu’s demands are ridiculous for local consumption and reflect the reality of the crisis situation he has reached after 220 days of aggression and war.”
