Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Shakhawan Abdullah, confirmed today, Thursday, that the visit of the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, to Baghdad came with the aim of activating the agreements, enhancing cooperation, and unifying visions between the parties to the political process.
A statement issued by the media office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives quoted Abdullah as saying: “The visit of the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, to Baghdad, the first in 6 years, has positive dimensions, and came with the aim of activating agreements, enhancing cooperation, and unifying visions between the parties to the political process.”
Abdullah added, “Barzani is a prominent national figure, and his visit to Baghdad is very important, and it establishes a roadmap for addressing the issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region,” stressing that “Barzani has strong and solid relations with major Iraqi and international national figures on the regional and global levels, and his meetings with political leaders and senior officials in the state will contribute to the stability of the political process and the establishment of a future stage and national partnership.”
